About Housing Ministries of New England

Housing Ministries of New England (“HMNE”) is a not-for-profit corporation that was formed in 2001 to assume ownership and management of properties in the New England Region. Following the sale of the last managed property owned by an affiliate in 2005, the Bowdoin Charitable Trust for Housing Creation (“BCTHC”) was formed. HMNE's mission then evolved from a stewardship and management role to that of finding and screening projects that otherwise may not move forward without the assistance of funding from BCTHC and that are run by not- for-profit organizations engaged in the rehabilitation of existing or in the construction of new affordable housing. Today, HMNE is committed to promoting the housing and social needs of low and moderate-income individuals and families through advocacy and support for quality affordable housing.
